These Pimento Cheese Muffins Are Perfect for The Masters
The Masters golf tournament arrives each spring and, for many fans, it’s as much about the traditions and the food as it is about the golf. One of those culinary traditions is the simple Southern favorite: pimento cheese. These Pimento Cheese Muffins put that classic flavor into an easy-to-eat, portable muffin that’s ideal for watching a round of golf at home, serving at a brunch, or packing for a picnic.
These mini muffins are buttery and cheesy with little pockets of pimento that add subtle sweetness and a mild peppery note. They are quick to prepare—no rolling or cutting required—just mix the batter, scoop into a mini muffin pan, and bake. Because they come together quickly and travel well, they’re also a great option for tailgating or for serving as an appetizer at game-day gatherings.

What Is Pimento Cheese?
Pimento cheese is a classic Southern spread made from shredded cheese, mayonnaise and diced pimentos. It’s used as a dip, sandwich filling, or topping and can range from smooth and creamy to chunky, depending on how it’s prepared. In these muffins, prepared pimento cheese adds both moisture and a flavorful cheesy base, simplifying the recipe while delivering authentic taste.
A Note on Prepared Pimento Cheese
If you’re using store-bought pimento cheese, choose a refrigerated brand that is cheese-forward rather than a thin, overly orange spread. Some prepared varieties include flavor variations such as jalapeño or bacon; those can be excellent if you want a spicier or smokier profile. For a reliably savory, well-textured result, pick a brand that lists real cheese high in the ingredients. If you prefer, you can also use a homemade pimento cheese for more control over texture and heat.
